About Solas
The name
Solas means "light" in Scottish Gaelic. The name is the thesis — we want to bring clarity to something that feels unnecessarily complicated.
The mission
Make self-employment tax simple enough to ignore.
Not ignore as in skip it — ignore as in it just works. Receipts get scanned, transactions get categorised, VAT gets calculated, returns get submitted. You focus on your work. The paperwork handles itself.

Self-employed people who are good at their work and bad at the paperwork. Plumbers, designers, consultants, tutors, couriers, photographers — anyone running a sole trade in the UK who shouldn't need an accounting degree to file their taxes.
